29 Sep 19: Women have called for gender balance in the award of contracts for procurement as part of efforts to promote equal market opportunities for businessmen and women. They made the call at a private sector meeting on “Affirmative Procurement in Nigeria” organized by the United Nations Women, Procter & Gamble, and Afrigrants Resources in Lagos for high-level decision-makers and leaders from Nigeria’s private sector, including business-oriented platforms, and policymakers. The meeting deliberated on the opportunities and challenges of mainstreaming affirmative procurement into Nigeria’s private sector.
