The World Bank comprises of two organizations, namely, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA). IBRD lends to middle income and credit-worthy low-income countries, and, the IDA provides interest free loans called Credits and Grants to the poorest of countries. India is the largest recipient of the World Bank financing currently.


India is poised to achieve mammoth growth in infrastructure sector. Hence to help India achieve her GDP growth goals, it is imperative that thrust should be there in the government agencies as well as contractors across the country to cultivate the discipline of structured project management approach and enhance competencies in the field of project management. L&T IPM in association with the World Bank aims to work with the government organizations in strengthening existing capability through imparting required knowledge and skills.

Program on "Construction Project Planning and Management" for World Bank assisted projects is organized with L&T IPM in partnership with the World Bank. The Program focuses on how to plan, manage and control construction operations and resources while building project management competencies to achieve predictable project results. This Program also addresses the skills and knowledge required at each stage of construction project execution and the critical elements within each stage. It follows a modular approach and its pedagogy is designed to give participants a wellrounded view of construction project planning and management. The program content includes tools and techniques required for efficiently managing construction operations.

  • To identify the importance of construction pre-project planning and its influence on the project outcomes.
  • To impart well-rounded view of managing construction projects with a focus on global and local contract practices, project finance control and reporting, project process, procedures and risk management.
  • To understand construction project management practices during “Pre-Construction”, “Construction” and “Close-Out Stage” for effective delivery project.
  • To enhance knowledge about project information management including use of technology for smart project management, project documents, records, retention and archival for future use and limiting claims and legal issues.
  • To develop skills required for effective stakeholder engagement and interface management.
  • The Program is a residential program. It will be conducted at L&T Institute of Project Management, L&T KC Residency Campus, Vadodara.
  • The contact sessions will comprise of input sessions, proficiency assessment, group presentations and invited presentations.
  • The Program is planned for 6 days of classroom teaching including applicable case studies. The course pedagogy includes use of cases as learning tools.

The participants will receive a “Certificate of Participation” upon completion of 6 days of the training program, which will be jointly certified by the World Bank and L&T IPM.


Faculty Members from L&T IPM, the World Bank staff, Senior Project Professionals and selected international visiting faculty will conduct program sessions. The Program will be well supported by the learning resources such as prescribed text books, database, study reports, study kit, etc. Registered participants will get access to expansive IPM Library and learning resource centre of IPM during the training program.

INR 80,000 plus applicable GST (18%) per participant. Rates are applicable for minimum batch size of 20.

The fee includes course delivery charges, course material, boarding & lodging, local transportation, lunch and refreshments during the session, access to the institute’s library, and other infrastructural facilities, etc. Pick-up and drop facilities from Vadodara Railway Station or Airport will be arranged by L&T IPM on a complimentary basis, on request. Participants are requested to make their own travel arrangements to and from Vadodara. Participants will be provided single occupancy accommodation only and there is no provision for family accommodation. The Program fee to be paid in advance as per following details.

REGISTRATION

The nomination form (appended in the next attachment) duly filled in along with the requisite fee should reach us at least 21 days before the commencement date of the program. The fee is ‘non-refundable’. A confirmation email will be sent to nominees after the receiving nomination form and full course fee. Nominees are requested to provide travel details and itinerary [and changes thereof] at the earliest in order to enable L&T IPM to make necessary logistical arrangements.

Program participants will be provided accommodation in L&T KC Residency campus at Vadodara which has all necessary provisions for stay including the dining hall for tea, breakfast and dinner. The menu covers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. L&T KC Residency campus has health centre, recreational club (KC Club) having indoor and outdoor games facility. KC Club facilities also include a library, executive restaurant and amphitheatre. It is expected that participants will arrive at L&T IPM's Vadodara Campus a day before the commencement of the program and leave on the same day after completion the program on 6th day.

Note:

  • Classes will be held from 09.00 AM to 05.30 PM. Participants are requested to report at L&T IPM at 08.45 AM.
  • Each day, there will be two sessions in the forenoon (FN) and two sessions in the afternoon (AN).
  • Lunch is served at the Cafeteria on the ground floor of the L&T IPM Building between 01.00 PM to 02.00 PM.
  • There are two tea/coffee breaks from 10.30 AM to 10.45 AM (except for Day 1, when it is from 10.00 AM to 10.15 AM), and, from 03.30 PM to 03.45 PM.
  • L & T IPM has arranged a visit to Statue of Unity at Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada River on Day 6 on a complimentary basis. Participants are requested to report at L&T IPM at 02.00 PM.
